This is billed as a nonfiction account of "Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin." Whatever. It's not really fair of me to rate this one star, because I didn't get very far before I gave up. If you liked Devil in the White City, you might enjoy it. His writing is much the same -- kind of stilted with lots of tell, not a lot of show. And, as he did in DITWC, he seems to have no problem taking liberties with historical detail that no one could possibly know, yet there's virtually no dialogue, so to me, his work reads like a very long-winded magazine article in need of good editing.
