A Spool of Blue Thread

Anne Tyler doesn't write suspenseful page turners, and the conflict in her books is usually more subtle, allowing the reader to linger over the minutia and enjoy the laser-focused attention to detail that Tyler is so good at. But this...it makes me sad to say I was more than half way through the book when I realized how much I didn't look forward to picking it up again. I returned it just yesterday, but if you were to ask me what it's about, I'd have to say, "Um, I'm not sure...I really don't remember. Mostly a really unlikable family I think."
